The Worthy Series
Through a partnership with The City of Boston, The Boston Art Commission, MassArt's sparc! the Artmobile, and Grove Hall Main Streets, I contributed to the Grove Hall in Color Initiative via participation in The Paint Box Project. For this commission, I was one of four artists selected to beautify the Grove Hall neighborhood with paintings on four electrical boxes along Blue Hill Avenue.
About the Series
In an effort to pull from the beauty of the residents in Grove Hall and display some positive affirmations after a summer of violence against people of color in America, I created this series of paintings both as a reminder and spotlight on our worthiness of love and respect. I also incorporated some symbols from EMERGENCE: What does hope look like? with the sentiment of hope for the future of the community.
